You're My Healer

In August 2013, the Lord nudged me to schedule starting this new worship album focused on healing for February 2014—the 10th anniversary of Andrea, Lori and Nicole’s prayers for me to “hear” (compose) new worship songs via the Holy Spirit. In January 2014, Andrea was diagnosed with colon cancer. God was healing her, but not for here. This emphasized that God is the healer and sometimes His grandest healing is different from what we want.

February 2014, the recording process began as He had instructed, but there was much, including all my vocals, still undone. Before we could do further recording, in July 2014, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Surgery was in August 2014. (I am doing well!) However, my voice was severely impacted. I could not sing. At all. The Lord impressed upon me that He would heal. After months, He divinely connected me with Dr. Krzysztof Izdebski, who oversaw my care and referred me to Amy Lesico and Lucy Beck. Through the application of their God-enabled expertise, little by little, my speaking and singing voice has been recuperating. I am grateful to God and them!

From July through August 2015, the Holy Spirit prompted me to add the final vocals to these songs. My voice was still recovering. Singing was hard. Making sound hurt (and still does). There were rough spots and I had little stamina. Thank you, Michael Everett (The Creation Lab), for getting me through it!

These songs were recorded for you, in this state, as an encouragement. Whatever your healing journey—remember He is always with you and will give you unexpected gifts along the way. He does heal for here, as well as ultimately for eternity, when finally, beautifully, we’ll all be home together once again. This is the true victory which can never be taken away.

Be healed in the name and power of Jesus! Receive His peace and His many blessings as He uses you on your healing journey to be His blessing to others (often in unwished-for places and unexpected ways). It is His spring! May we worship His majesty now and forever, for to Him alone be all glory!
