Beginning and the End

(These are some of my love songs to Him…coupled with the request that He prune me to be more like Him.)

There is this place you reach in your faith journey where you recognize, as long as you are with God and He is with you, whatever you are going through will be all right. You begin to get a grasp of how deep His love is for you and how grand His care is, through all circumstances. You cannot help but bow down and adore. Awe and wonder at His simultaneous ethereal, enthroned majesty and undeniable closeness. That He would love you so much and be so approachable! 

Additionally, you recognize that in His love, He wants to make you more into His image. This is an act of love from Him, though the process may not feel good. Think of how plants and trees are pruned to become more fruitful. God wants to prune you unto yet more flourishing life, so you can live in His peace and productivity no matter what. The pruning happens as you are focused on Him. 

That’s what these song prayers are all about. They help you gaze at Him in a way that Holy Spirit is invited to mold you as clay and refine you with His fire—to the extent you will let Him. And how can you not? Without Him, life is akin to living in a desert. But Holy Spirit is the answer. Holy Spirit is the Living Water who is like the broadest river. As He washes over you (because through the songs, you have sought His presence), He will gradually restore every wounded, aching place in your heart, so you can thrive today, tomorrow and unto eternity with Him and all the angels and saints. 

How blessed! All praise and glory and honor to our present and future King! The Lord bless you and keep you and those you love. You are in my prayers and heart.
