But most often, He will not cause you to skip over the hard times. Instead, He will walk with you through them. The harshness of these seasons is to be endured. In faith. In trust. Actually, it is because of what happens beneath the surface, hidden from view in winter, that the next harvest can even come.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese songs were birthed during a season of my own life where all I could do was trust and keep taking His next step. Blindly following. Now they are for you, to help you stand and keep on standing with arms lifted in praise because you choose to trust. Even now. (Perhaps especially now.)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHis inspiration for the song, “You’re in the Boat,” may express it best. Obviously God has ultimate control over our storms, but because of how things are in this fallen realm, He sometimes allows them to rage a while—which can cause terror in our hearts. During one such personal storm, which seemed unrelenting and never-ending, it was as if He called me to choose a new level of trust instead of waiting for the storm to pass, with eyes clenched tightly shut. As I noticed Him seemingly asleep in the boat, in the midst of this storm, He extended His hand with an invitation to come rest with Him, until it was His timing for it to cease. Did I trust Him enough to lay my head on His shoulder and sleep as well? To open my hands and heart and release to Him all to which I held on so tightly? Either He is God or He is not…\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMay these songs give you words and melodies with which to reach Him in your own storms.
